As efforts continue to reform social deviants, Food for the Poor (Guyana) Inc has again extended a tangible hand to further boost Guyana Prison Service – New Amsterdam Poultry, Project which enters phase two.On Wednesday last, Leon Davis, Executive Director, handed over a $2.5 million on behalf of FFTP to Maple Blades, Chief Agriculture Officer of Guyana Prisons Service. That money was used for the construction of a 1000 ft x 30 ft chicken coop, the rearing of 3000 broiler chicks and provision of feed and vitamins.It was noted that all told, FFTP has invested $6 million towards the Guyana Prison Service Poultry Project – New Amsterdam,Wholesale Jerseys, with the aim of making them self sustainable, while promoting skills training for inmates.Leon Davis noted that this does not include the other amounts that were invested in the agricultural project of the Prisons.Among those present for the launch of the second phase was Kevin Pilgrim, Cadet Officer of the Guyana Prison Services.
